Update 2.11.0 Incoming: Major Changes to Defense and Attack Mechanics!
Attention Commanders,
On 21.10.2024 at 09:00 CET, the server will be offline to implement version 2.11.0. This update brings significant changes to the combat and defense systems that will impact your strategies moving forward.
- Attacks will be disabled at 10:00 CET and will be re-enabled on 22.10.2024 at 18:00 CET.
- We encourage all players to familiarize themselves with these changes as they are designed to create a more balanced and engaging combat experience for everyone.
Key Changes in Version 2.11.0
-
Removal of the x4 Attack Limit:
The previous restriction that only allowed attacks on players within 4x of your weapon points has been removed. Now, all players are available for attacks, regardless of point differences. However, when a stronger player attacks a weaker one, the attack will be scaled based on the weaker player’s maximum points, ensuring that each battle is balanced on a 1:1 point ratio. This introduces a more fair and tactical combat experience. -
Dynamic Fleet and Defense Points:
Fleet and defense points are no longer static but now adapt in real-time based on your research levels, upgrades from the Arsenal and Modernization Center, and other bonuses. Your fleet’s current strength will be displayed in the fleet/defense description.- Note: If you reset your Modernization Center, your fleet's points will not update immediately but within a random time between 1 and 48 hours to prevent point manipulation.
-
Real-Time Combat Calculations:
When attacking or defending, fleet and defense power will be calculated in real-time, without the need to refresh stats. This ensures that the latest upgrades and bonuses are always accounted for during battles. -
Increased Resource Theft:
The base resource theft has been increased from 50% to 75%, making resource raiding more lucrative. -
Restrictions on Fleet/Defense Acceleration:
A ban has been introduced on speeding up fleet or defense construction, repair, or TM purchases within 2 minutes before a battle starts, to ensure fair play. -
Recalculation of Statistic Points:
All player stats have been recalculated, and these statistics no longer affect your availability for attack. -
Temporary Removal of Moon Destruction:
The moon destruction feature has been temporarily disabled. However, during espionage, you can still see the chance of moon destruction when sending a Death Star with maximum points. -
Point Reduction for Specific Units:
Points for Solar Satellites, Spy Probes, and Engineering Ships have been reduced by 5 times to better balance these units. -
Introduction of Shields After Attacks:
Two types of shields have been introduced:- Planetary Shield: Protects one planet and has lower requirements for activation.
- Imperial Shield: Protects all planets in your empire but has stricter requirements and lasts for a longer duration.
Shields will provide protection after an attack, giving players time to recover.
-
Changes for Alliance Wars:
In the event of a war between alliances, the requirements to obtain a shield are increased, based on the level of losses. -
Minimum Fleet Deployment:
When attacking another player, the minimum fleet sent must equal at least 10% of your building points. -
New Holding Rules:
Friends can no longer stand on planet holdings. Any player from your alliance or an allied alliance can now take this role instead. -
Resource/War Point Adjustments Based on Strength Differences:
Stolen resources and war points will now be adjusted based on the strength difference between players. The coefficient reflecting this difference will be displayed during espionage. -
Imperial Shield Bonuses:
While the Imperial Shield is active, resource production on all planets is boosted by 100%, and the speed of fleet and defense construction is increased by 200%. -
Removed Energy Bonus for Defense Shields:
The energy bonus previously applied to defense shields has been removed for balance. -
Disabled Auto-Withdrawal of Fleet/Defense:
The automatic withdrawal of fleets and defense has been disabled to ensure more consistent gameplay. -
Increased Ram Effectiveness:
The effectiveness of Rams against all defense types (including Prime defenses) has been increased. -
Increased Shield Dome Points:
Shield Dome points have been increased as follows:- Small Shield Dome: 1 → 50 points
- Medium Shield Dome: 5 → 350 points
- Large Shield Dome: 50 → 3500 points
-
Extended Fleet Teleportation Ban:
The ban on teleporting fleets under attack has been extended from 6 to 15 seconds. If less than 15 seconds remain before an attack, teleportation on that planet will not be possible. -
Temporary Changes in the Modernization Center:
- The cost for resetting fleet and defense upgrades in the Modernization Center has been temporarily removed.
- The limit on fleet and defense sales has also been removed temporarily, and you can now sell Shield Domes as well.
What This Means for You
These changes are designed to completely rework the strong/weak player defense system. The old x4 protection system didn’t work as intended and led to unfair advantages for stronger players while stunting the growth of others. The new system encourages constant development by rewarding players who build larger fleets, giving them more power and opportunities while ensuring balanced, strategic combat with the 1:1 attack system.
Open Beta Testing for the New Defense System
The new defense system will be in open beta testing in the near future. We encourage you to share your feedback, and we will be actively listening to player input as we fine-tune the new system.
Stay tuned for more updates, and get ready to adapt your strategies to these exciting new changes!
